ASL Topic Conversation between “The Arrival of A Guest” Speaking Test.

This is a dialogue concerning the arrival of a guest in the house of Mr. Sehgal.

Manish: Hello uncle, Good morning. Please come in.

Guest: Good morning, Manish. How are you?

Manish: Pretty well uncle, thanks. What about you?

Guest: I am also all right. Where is your father and your Mummy?

Manish: Uncle they are upstairs. I’ll just call them. Papa! come downstairs. Pran uncle from Ferozepur has come.

Mr. Sehgal: Hello, Uncle How are you? When did you come?

Guest: I am just coming.

Mr. Sehgal: By which train?

Guest: By the Punjab Mail.

Mr. Sehgal: Was it late today?

Guest: Yes, it was running late today by two hours.

Mr. Sehgal: Manish, call your Mummy also.

Manish: O.K, Daddy.

Guest: I have come, to attend the marriage ceremony of my friend’s daughter in Delhi. I thought that I should take this opportunity to visit you also.

Mr. Sehgal: This is our pleasure uncle, to see you after such a long time. Please stay with us now for a few days.

Guest: I shall stay for two days only as I do not have much leave to my credit.

Mrs. Sehgal: Welcome uncle. When did you come?

Guest: I am just coming.

Mrs. Sehgal: How is everybody?

Guest: All are hale and hearty. Your aunty remembers all of you.

Mr. Sehgal: Why did not you bring her also along with you?

Guest: I was coming for a short visit. It was not possible to bring her. Sunita had also come to stay with us for a few days along with her children. Therefore, I promised your aunty that next time I would be bringing her along with me.

Mrs. Sehgal: What would you like to have uncle?

Guest: Anything.

Mr. Sehgal: Would you like to have something cold or hot?

Guest: I would like hot tea at this time.

Mrs. Sehgal: O.K. uncle you just wash your face and hands. I shall bring your breakfast and tea in a few minutes.

Guest: Please show me your bathroom.

Mr. Sehgal: This is our bathroom uncle. The towel and the soap are lying near the basin: If you want the toothpaste that is also lying there.

Guest: Thank you.

Mrs. Sehgal: Uncle, please make hurry the breakfast is ready on the dining table and the tea is getting cold.

Guest: Oh! here I am. Now where is your dining table?

Mr. Sehgal: Come this way. This is our dining room.

Guest: Oh! It’s a big dining table and a sumptuous breakfast.

Mrs. Sehgal: It is nothing, uncle. I have prepared a simple breakfast very hurriedly.

Guest: But it is very delicious. The tea is really hot thanks for all this.

Mrs. Sehgal: Uncle stay with us for at least a few days.

Guest: Do not worry. I will stay with you for another two days but I promise that when I bring your Aunty next time we are going to stay with you at least for 15 days.

Mrs. Sehgal: Thanks in advance.
