The Indian Beggar – 10 Lines

1. Beggar can be seen in India, sitting on the roadsides, outside temples, busy places, on streets, begging for alms.
2. Some can be seen begging from door to door, at bus stops, railway stations, and cinema houses where people move in crowds.
3. They present a pathetic sight and excite pity in onlookers with twisted arms, legs, and pitiable cries.
4. Their appeals often melt people’s hearts. They pray loudly for the welfare of the people’s families and ask them to give alms in the name of God or Allah.
5. Begging is unlawful in India. Some beggars don’t want to do any sort of work. Some are actually handicapped.
6. At festivals they earn a lot. They carry a professional bowl for alms.
7. Some beggars sometimes don’t miss a chance to steal articles from shops or houses.
8. Any- way we should not encourage beggary. It brings a slur to the good name of our country.
9. Healthy beggars should be given work for an honorable living.
10. Women often fall an easy prey to them. It is the easiest way of earning a living without doing any work.
