English Essay/Paragraph/Speech on “Science – And Its Blissful Aspects” for Kids and Students for Class 8, 9, 10, Class 12 and Graduation Examination

Science – And Its Blissful Aspects

Science has changed human life altogether. The fabrics that we wear are manufactured in the factories. The machines that we use in everyday life, are manufactured in most parts of the world. The cookers, the coolers, the refrigerators, radio-sets, television-sets, cameras, telephones, wireless systems, telescopes, microscopes and other such instruments have become sources of human comfort. Man may converse with his friends and relatives living thousands of miles away. We have seen the pictures of the planets reach our earth through space by electronically-fitted cameras. A man sitting on earth may see the surface of the mars millions of miles away in space.

The buses, ships, airplanes, scooters and even bicycles have minimized distance to a greater extent. To reach New York from Delhi is a matter of hours. We know of the vast caravans of traders trekking their very through the deserts of Rajasthan and Iran to the distant places such as Greece and Turkey in medieval times. People used to walk or ride the beasts of burden up to thousands of miles to sell their goods. There were boats, but today there are ships of the modern size that bring thousands of tonnes of goods to various countries easily.

Science has placed at our disposal a vast variety of experimental knowledge. In big laboratories, experiments are conducted on many subjects and thus research goes on unabated. Our country also has got many research laboratories. On one side, research is being conducted for benefiting humanity and on the other hand, atomic weapons being piled up by the super powers for fighting future wars.

There are missiles having nuclear war-heads and other bombs that may destroy big cities in a matter of minutes. Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan were destroyed in a matter of minutes when atomic bombs were dropped in those cities at the end of the Second World War in 1945. But now the people are aware of the dangers posed by nuclear weapons and efforts are being made by the UN and other bodies to stop the nuclear race.

India wants peace in the world and wishes that every country should destroy the atomic weapons or at least call a halt to it forthwith.

Thus, man is progressing by manufacturing good things of life and at the same time he is making progress in manufacturing atomic and space weapons to destroy the human race.

Again this is not all. People have become more money minded. They are not like their fore fathers who were simple and religious. They treated God as Almighty. They feared God. But the modern man has almost forgotten those values of life.

Science has changed human outlook to a great extent. He is not a carefree man like his ancestors. He leads an artificial way of life. He glorifies in outward comforts of life. Thus science has dealt a blow to the ancient values of humanity.

If the man starts thinking of the future of the human race, he must have to give up the path of destruction. If he works like a sane man and stops working for building up nuclear arsenals, this earth is bound to turn into a heaven, otherwise the worst type of disaster may wipe out the remains of human and other types of life on this beautiful planet. Science is a blessing in disguise, but if the scientific knowledge is misused, it makes hell of it.
