My dear Father
You will be glad to learn that I’m doing very well in my studies. During the last examination, the result of which is out today, I have secured the first position in the aggregate marks.
There are, however, certain problems which I’m facing now. The school authorities have substantially increased the school fees and that quite arbitrary. The washerman has increased the charges. Then I need a number of books and items of stationery for which I have no money.
I shall, therefore, be grateful if you increase my monthly allowance from the present Rs. 1500/- to 2000/-
Convey my love to Sunny and Kanu.
