Lifts

High  rise floors we use a simple principle as buildings are increasing each day and to get to the upper lifts. As much as they are convenient to use, they work on well. It. is difficult to lift a heavy object till you can appropriately counter the force of gravity. The car of the lift is pulled upwards or lowered with the help of a steel cable. On the other end of this cable is a counter weight which drops downwards as the lift goes up. The force of gravity which pulls this weight down, counters the gravitational pull upon the lift going upwards.

On the topmost floor of the building is a winch with a pulley attached to it. The steel cable of the lift is looped around this pulley and when we push the button inside the lift, the winch is activated and we are lifted or lowered to the desired floor. There are a set of doors in the lift and one on each floor both these sets of doors open only when the lift has arrived on that floor.
