10 Lines on “Mahatma Gandhi”

1. Mahatma Gandhi is called the ‘Father of the Indian Nation’.

2. He was born on October 2, 1869, at Rajkot in Gujarat. He was named Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

3. Gandhi studied law in England and went to South Africa to practice it.

4. He saw the condition of the Indians there and felt sad.

5. He returned to India and started a movement to make people aware that they could live in a free country.

6. The British were treating the Indians like slaves. He suffered much for the sake of the country and went to jail many times.

7. Along with other leaders like Nehru, Patel, Azad, Tilak, Bose, etc., he fought for India’s freedom in a non-violent way without using any weapons.

8. Finally, on August 15, 1947, India got her freedom.

9. He was shot dead by Nathuram Godse on January 30, 1948.

10. He fell with a cry of ‘Hey Ram’!
