An Election Scene

1. In India elections are held after every five years. Sometimes they are held before it due to the fall of the government or the death of an M.P. or M.L.A.
2. People choose their representative to run the government of a state or the Central government.
3. On the day of the election voters go to their respective booths to cast their vote. Supporters of different parties are seen helping voters with their chit of their serial numbers.
4. There are policemen inside as well as outside the polling booth to prevent any untoward scene or quarrel.
5. Inside there are rooms with numbers pasted at the door. Inside representatives of the candidates in the fray sit and tick mark the voter.
6. They also see if the voter is genuine or not. They sit there until the last moment of the fixed time for voting.
7. There are government officials who supply the voter with a voter’s list to be marked and put into a box. There prevails tension throughout the day.
8. When the voting time comes to an end everyone feels released and happy for the voting has passed off peacefully.
9. Crowds of people can be seen going back home. Many of them are party workers.
10. A few among them are voters who try to guess who is going to win.
