Awareness Camp on Keeping the City Clean

An awareness camp on – Keeping the City Clean was organized by the Yuva Shakti Manch’ yesterday. Noted social worker Bhai Parmanand was the chief speaker. He called upon the need to educate people to keep their surroundings clean. Waste deposit boxes should be installed in a convenient approach for the people. These should be graded and marked color-wise according to biodegradable and non-degradable wastes. Polythene is a big threat to the environment. Strict measures to curb its use were demanded from the Govt. Alternatives to polythene, like jute bags were recommended for use by people. Night sweeping should be introduced to check the dust levels in the air. Campaigns for beautification should be taken up at war-footing,
