Sir,

I would like to draw the attention of the public towards the evils of street begging through your esteemed paper.

Begging in the streets is becoming a real nuisance, especially at the crossings. And we have only ourselves to blame. Most of us take it as a religious duty to give alms to them, thus encouraging them.

I appeal to the people not to give them alms instead, we should help them get suitable jobs.
