Respected Auntie,

Although I am very late in replying to your loving letter, I hope you would excuse me for the delay, when you know the reason.

No one can predict when he may have to face a devastating misfortune. Father too had a miraculously narrow escape, while trying to save a small child, on his way to home from work. This was on the 5th of this month.

He was returning from his office on his scooter as usual. truck was coming from the opposite direction and a tong followed him at the rear. The road was narrow. Suddenly small child was seen running to cross the road. In order t save the child, father applied brakes. The child, however escaped unhurt but father was himself knocked down by the tonga. Fortunately, the truck driver stopped and rushed him to the civil hospital. We were informed on the phone and we ran to the hospital in great panic.

His left arm was fractured and he had several injuries on the head. After spending a week in the ward, he was discharge from the hospital this morning itself. But he is still confine to bed and needs bed rest for a few weeks. After knowing about the full episode, I am sure you would certainly excuse me for not writing to you earlier. Rest I fine here. Mummy bought your saris and is now waiting for your next visit. With regards to dear uncle, Yours obediently,
