Promotion to all cadres of teachers

Chandigarh (29-05-2015) The meeting of Joint Action Committee of teachers held with Deputy Director School-I Mr. Chanchal Singh to discuss the yearly Promotion to all cadres of teachers like- Release of third list of JBT Promotions- Immediate Promotion of TGT to PGT, Headmasters/Headmistress/Principals and all other cadres at teaching /non teaching staff working in UT Schools. The matter has already been taken up with secretary Education and DPI (S) and they have assured the delegation for immediate promotions. The Promotion of TGT to PGT is urgently required to save the services of contract and guest faculty teachers which is in danger zone due to new recruitment and deputation. The officers have already given assurance that no guest faculty and contract teacher will be relieved. Moreover the stagnation of teachers in one cadre for years together affects the efficiency of teachers and whenever the posts get vacant the Promotions should be done after every  six months  instead of 15 to 20 years. The last promotions of TGT to PGT were made in April 2013 after the gap of 20 years. The Promotions were given to 187 teachers and most of them have retired and Promotions of JBT to TGT have been made after the gap of 10 years. The Deputy director assured the delegation the Promotion process will be started soon. The delegation comprised. Bhag Sing Kairon, Khushali Ram Sharma, Savinder Singh, Ranbir Rana, Shamsher Singh , Dapinder Kaur and Madhurima also discussed the various problems of UT teachers like regularisation of contract, guest faculty, SSA teachers, Merger of Computer teachrs in Education Department , Increase in the salary of vocational teachers, Clearance of all pending cases of teachers, Special housing scheme for teachers, creation of new posts of vice principals and vice heads with all benefits and powers, appointing heads for the primary classes running in double shift schools by giving benefit to the senior most JBT teachers as per seniority list.
