Govt. Model High School Secgtor-34, Chandigarh celebrated its Annual function cum sports day. The function commenced with the inauguration of the display of school motto ‘Harmony in Unity’ by the chief Guest, Mr. Kamlesh Kumar Bhadoo, DPI (S) Chd. The celebrations were initiated by an exhibition on ‘Science and Human Health’. Charts were displayed by the students on different parts of the organs of the body. To start the sports meet, the school flag was unfurled by the chief guest and all the dignitaries took the salute of the March past by Scouts and Guides. Sports meet started with different races like spoon race, three legged race, matka race, slow cycling race, sack race , cart-wheel, skipping race and long jump. The headmaster Dr. Vinod Sharma read the school annual report tracing the progress, major events and achievements of the school. Then cultural bonanza was held in which the students showed their capabilities in the form of skit on ‘Swachh Bharat Swastha Bharat’, song and dances .The ‘Yoga’ of nursery students was a treat to spectators. The foot tapping beat of Bhangra enthralled the audience. Many other dignitaries like Mr. K.K. Bhadu (HSC); DPI Schools, Chandigarh (UT), Mr. Chanchal Singh Deputy Director Education dept. Chandigarh (UT) and Assistant Director Mrs. Suman Sharma Education dept. Chandigarh (UT) graced the occasion. The chief guest gave away the prizes to the students for their academics and extracurricular achievements and acknowledges their wonderful performance on scholastic and co-scholastic achievements and motivates all to keep working hand with sincere endeavour. Dr. vinod Sharma head of the institution, said that it is the duty of the school to develop multitalented students.
Dr. Sharma further advised to inculcate sense of initiativeness , and self management skills amongst the students.

In the end Dr. Vinod Sharma proposed a vote of thanks and complimented the students, teachers SMC members, whose effects the event could not have been successful.
