Republic Day

Republic day is celebrated on 26th January every year all  over India with full enthusiasm. In the year 1950, on 26th January, constitution of India came into force and India became a completely sovereign state.

Celebrations take place all over the country on this day and especially in New Delhi, which is the capital city of India. The event begins with commemorating all the soldiers who died for the country and a salute of 21 guns is presented to them. After this the President unfurls the national flag and National Anthem is played.

After this, President gives medals and awards of bravery to the officers of the armed forces and to the civilians who have proved their courage and helped people in different situations.  

After this, showering of rose petals is made on the audience by helicopters of the armed forces. A colourful cultural parade follows the military parade. Beautiful tableau’s from various states unique festivals by state, art or any historical location of that state. Skillful motorcycle rides are also included in the parade and the most awaited part of the parade is the fly past by Indian armed forces which marks the end of the parade. Other than this celebration, celebrations at small level is organized in different states, offices and schools.
