Many great actresses of the world have made history and Sarah Berndhart was one of them. For 50 years, she dominated the field of acting. Although her first performance was remarkable for its high quality of acting, yet she kept on improving with every performance till the end. Her work never sagged.

Sarah was born in Paris. She was educated at the famous school of drama of France. She was, in a strange way, so different from her other colleagues that for many days she was not given a chance to come’ on the stage. But in 1870, when she got a chance, she displayed extra-ordinary talent. She acted different characters successfully of which “Joan of Arc” and “Elizabeth-First” were outstanding roles. She studied and acted many men characters of which “Hamlet” was quite famous.

Sarah had to have one of her foot amputed after an accident in 1914, but that did not deter her from performances. Even today many actresses try to copy her style. Sarah Berndhart is respected by all the stage-lovers of the world.
