Jinnah was a leading lawyer of his time. He joined the Congress and participated in the Independence struggle. However, he thought that Gandhiji was favouring Hindus at the cost of Muslims, a feeling which was fanned by the British. As a result, Jinnah formed Muslim League and demanded a separate state for the Muslims.
