Acharya Narendra Dev is remembered with great honour among the respected socialists of modem India. He was not only a scholar but a great nationalist as well. His erudite, frankness and socialist views earned him the respect of Gandhiji and Subhash Bose although they did not subscribe to his views. He was chiefly instrumental in advancing socialism and for this, the labour class considered him as their well-wisher.
Acharya Narendra Dev knew many languages of which Pali, Sanskrit, French and Hindi were main. He was a good writer and an effective orator. He participated in the non-cooperative movement in 1920. He went to jail many a time. He established the All India Kisan Sabha.
Acharya Narendra Dev was in favour of high moral standards in politics. He was also Chancellor of Kashi and Lucknow Universities which is a proof of his scholastic capabilities. His spotless clean image and ideal personality got him respect from all.
