Art for art’s sake means making pictures for pleasure and not money making. Modern art is (art for) art’s sake. It is the highest art. Any money paid for a painting is just by the way. That is not the real purpose of a pure painted. He makes paintings to please himself or herself. This is the main motive of the altruistic artist.
