ASL Topic Conversation Between A New Student and The Teacher Speaking Test.
This is a dialogue between a new student, who has taken admission in the English Conversation class and the Teacher. The Teacher introduces the new student to his class
Student: May I come in, sir?
Teacher: Yes, please come in.
Student: Sir, is this the class for English Conversation?
Teacher: Yes, please. You are in the right class.
Student: Sir, I am a new student for the English Conversation class.
Teacher: Have you taken the admission?
Student: Yes, sir.
Teacher: When did you take the admission?
Student: Sir, I took the admission today itself.
Teacher: Please show me your Identity Card.
Student: Sir, they have not issued to me the Identity Card as yet. I’ll get my Identity Card tomorrow.
Teacher: Have you got the receipt for the payment of the fees?
Student: Yes sir. Here is the receipt for the fee. The college office has also given me this admission slip.
Teacher: Show me these.
Student: Have these, sir.
Teacher: Keep standing here. Let me write your Roll No. and name in the Attendance Register. What’s your name?
Student: Sir, my name is Krishan Kumar.
Teacher: Now, let me ask certain questions from you to introduce you, to the English Conversation Class.
Student: Yes, sir.
Teacher: What’s your educational qualification?
Student: Sir, I am a Graduate.
Teacher: From which University did you pass your B.A.?
Student: Sir, I passed from the Agra University.
Teacher: In which year did you pass your B.A.?
Student: Sir, I passed in 1978.
Teacher: What’s your division in B.A?
Student: Sir, I got just second division.
Teacher: What were your subjects?
Student: Sir, I studied English, Commerce, Eco- nomics, and Hindi.
Teacher: Which was your most favourite subject?
Student: Sir, Economics was my most favourite subject.
Teacher: What’s your hobby?
Student: Sir, my hobby is collecting old coins.
Teacher: How many coins have you got?
Student: Sir, I have got 500 coins.
Teacher: What’s your ambition?
Student: Sir, I want to become a Bank Officer.
Teacher: Have you applied for any Bank Post?
Student: Yes, sir. I have applied for the post of a Probationary Officer in the State Bank of India.
Teacher: Very good. Have you passed the written examination?
Student: Yes, sir. I am waiting for my interview letter.
Teacher: Why do you want to learn English Conversation?
Student: Sir, I want to improve my English speaking and remove my hesitation, as I am going to appear before the Interview Board in the near future.
Teacher: Very good. I am sure it you attend our English Conversation course for three months; you will become a fluent speaker and you will also be able to remove your hesitation.
Student: Sir, I become quite nervous while speaking in English.
Teacher: Never mind. Practice makes a man per- When you attend our course for three months you will be able to overcome your nervousness while speaking in English.
Student: Thank you, sir.
Teacher: O.K. Now, please sit down.
