Essay on – The City I Live in

I live in Delhi. It is a metropolitan city. It is divided into two parts, Old Delhi and New Delhi. New Delhi is the capital of India.

It is situated on the banks of Yamuna. It is the center of attraction. People from all parts of India come to visit it. People come to see it from other countries of the world. People belonging to all states of India live here. It is mini India.

It has many historical buildings such as the Red Fort, the Qutab Minar, Jantar Mantar, and Humayun’s Tomb. There are other places worth visiting. They are the Jama Masjid, Birla Mandir, Lotus Temple, Parliament House, President House, and The Delhi Zoo.

It has many hospitals, clinics and schools, and colleges. It is the center of education. It has three universities. It has medical and engineering colleges too. It has three railway junctions and three interstate bus terminals.

It is also the center of trade and Industry. The most important are Sadar Bazaar, Karol Bagh, and Chandani Chowk. Okhla is famous for its industry. Connaught Place is worth visiting. It is in the center of the city. The highest court of our country is also here.

Delhi is overcrowded. Pollution is at its peak. More and more vehicles ply on the roads of Delhi. Some steps must be taken to check pollution. It is a health hazard. The most famous hospital in Delhi is AIIMS. It is in South Delhi.

In the past, it had been the capital of several empires. It is the heart of our country. I like it.
