My dear Mr. Ganesan,
Received your affectionate letter, carrying the good, auspicious news of the marriage ceremony of your younger brother, Mr. Murthy. We all are very happy to know that your father has decided to solemnize it in an ideal, simple way. Giving or demanding dowry is, undoubtedly a curse to our society. Your father has really put a noble example before others. Please convey our heartiest felicitations to the couple.
I have, indeed, no words of thanks to your dear father for extending us an invitation to be present on the happy occasion.
We would have certainly enjoyed and felt delighted to attend the marriage ceremony. But we regret our inability to do so on account of some pressing family problems. I am sure, taking into consideration our helplessness, you would be considerate enough to excuse our absence. I promise to meet all of you with my family at the earliest to bless the newly-wed in person.
With warm regards,
Yours affectionately,
Mani Aiyar
