Essay on “A Fire Accident” Complete Essay for Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation and other classes.

A Fire Accident

Fire accidents are not common. But when they take place, they cause great alarm and destruction and sometimes loss of life. A bit carelessness of a person takes the shape of fire – tragedy.

I was studying in my study room which is on second story. Suddenly I heard a noise. I left my study and came down to find the reason  of noise. Many people  were going towards chappal market. One of my friends advised me to see the spot. I accompanied him.

Many people were trying to help . things were being carried out. Next day I came to know the detail of accident , shopkeepers in Sadar Bazar’s Chappal market were praising the Delhi Fire Service which did a great job in restricting a major fire. It had broken out in the area on Saturday evening.

Although goods worth lakhs of rupees was damaged in the incident yet there was no loss of life. it was not clear what caused the fire. Some were blaming the wiring. Other were making doubt on a store- shop having explosive materials. The fire which was started around 8.30 p.m. on Saturday raged all though the night. It had brought under control around 5 a.m. on Sunday. Nearly 50 shops were gutted. Due to narrow lanes, the chances of fire spreading rapidly were quite high. Due to narrow  space there was great difficulty to get proper service of fire- brigade.

A fire official said, “Throughout the night, water was sprayed on the buildings on fire from all sides to keep the fire out from spreading to the neighbouring areas.” Devendra Pal who was a shopkeeper said to us that he could not sleep all night fearing he fire would spread to his shop. But the fire service personnel succeeded in preventing the fire from spreading.

Around 2.30 p.m. on Sunday although the fire had been put our, smoke could be seen coming out from some of the windows of the affected building. A fire – service official told, “As soon as the fire broke out, several portions of the affected buildings collapsed. It made a difficulty for fire fighters to enter the buildings. People living there said, “If the fire service  brigade has not arrived on time, the destruction would have been much greater”
