1. January 26 is celebrated in India as Republic Day.
2. This year we decided to attend the Republic Day Parade.
3. We reached Raj Path much before the program started.
4. The celebrations began with the arrival of the President in a carriage.
5. The Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, NCC, and schoolchildren took part in the parade.
6. We saw tanks, guns, and other Military equipment-all polished and glittering.
7. Then came the camels, horses, and elephants carrying children who were to be awarded for bravery.
8. It was so exciting to watch these little heroes! The celebrations came to an end with colourful folk dances.
9. On our way back we ate ice-creams.
10. I was very tired when we returned home. It had been the most memorable day of my life indeed!
