2. On this day we won our freedom from foreign rule.

5. He delivers a speech emphasizing the importance of national unity and integrity of India.
6. He reminds the people of the great sacrifices made by the Indian leaders to achieve independence. It is a day of national holiday.
7. Celebrations are also held in the state capitals.
8. The Governor of some other State dignitary unfurls the national flag.
9. Our school also celebrates this occasion. It reminds us of the martyrs.
10. It reminds us of the responsibility we owe to the nation.
