1. Last year, I went to Thiruvananthapuram during the Christmas holidays.

2. My father took me to see the famous zoo there.

3. An ape was the first animal I saw at the zoo. It jumped from bar to bar in a cage, and then came and stood in front of us.

4. We gave it some monkey nuts.

5. Then we saw the lions and tigers. They looked fierce.

6. I was scared and held onto my father’s hand tightly.

7. We saw birds, all in cages, chirping and making a lot of noise.

8. Some of them had bright, colourful feathers.

9. We also saw elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, spotted deer, snakes, bears, camels, rabbits, leopards, and crocodiles.

10. I spent three hours at the zoo and thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
