A Porter – 10 Lines

1. A porter can be seen at a railway station or interstate bus terminals.
2. He is a familiar figure to everyone.
3. He carries out luggage from outside a railway station to the platform where our train is expected to start or arrive.
4. He usually wears a red shirt. He ties a brass plate, with the number, on one of his arms.
5. He earns his livelihood in this way. Passengers depend on him to carry their loads from one place to another, in or out of the railway station or to a particular platform.
6. Some porters are very greedy. They ask for more and more money for their work.
7. They help passengers to get good seats in a crowded compartment.
8. The job of a coo- lie / porter is in fact very hard.
9. For an honest poster it is difficult to earn daily bread.
10. The last years of his life present a sad tale if he is not looked after by his children.
