Sir,

Respectfully I write this to report that a part of the building, known as Leaning Tower, in which this branch is located, collapsed suddenly this morning without any apparent cause. A part of the debris also fell in the portion occupied by this branch as a result of which some customers and also some employees received mi- nor injuries. Many files and papers were also buried under the debris, disrupting the normal working of the bank.

Immediate relief operations were organised and the injured persons were taken to the Bara Hindu Rao Hospital. Twelve of them were discharged after first-aid, while six person including three employees of the bank are still under treatment as indoor patients. All of them are progressing well.

Most of the valuable records have since been retrieved from the debris, while efforts to salvage the remaining records/documents are in full swing. Counter transactions have been re-started and the branch is now functioning normally. The matter is brought to your immediate notice for information and such further action as you might deem fit in the circumstances.

A further report, giving more details and the condition of the injured persons, will be furnished to you tomorrow morning.
