My dear Uncle,

Thanks for you letter, dated January 15, and some old issues of the Reader’s Digest. Since reading general books and magazines is my hobby, they would help me a lot in spending my time nicely and fruitfully. Moreover, my G.K. would also improve.

Uncle, in your letter you wanted to know about the profession, I intend to choose, after completing my studies. I appreciate your concern for me and my future. After having given serious thought to what I should be doing in future, I have found teaching, the best suited to my liking.

You know, uncle, that I have no aptitude for a mere money-making profession. This is why I do not want to become a lawyer, an engineer, or a businessman. The profession of a doctor is, undoubtedly, noble, but he is always surrounded by suffering people. On the contrary, a teacher is a real nation builder. He builds character of the young, impressionable people. Moreover, even the teachers are well-paid these days and enjoy many other benefits like LTC,PF, gratuity, pension and free medical aid. They have ample time for self-study and recreation. This is why I intend to become a teacher and solicit your kind support for my choice.
