Firstly, the unquenchable thirst of modern man towards purchasing newer things is taking him to a stage where he will have to depend on the market for everything. To illustrate, these days’ people show an inclination towards fast food and other ready-to-use items. It will not be too long when he will be totally dependent on packaged food. This trend not only leads to the demise of traditional skills but also causes a fall in the self-reliance of people.

This obsession needs to be kept under check. Due to this lust towards materialistic possessions, man is forgetting his familial and social obligations. Also, purchasing a new product means discarding the old one. Thus, modern day spendthrifts cause the wastage of resources and also unknowingly contribute to higher production of rubbish.
