Paragraph on “Can cats really see in the dark?” complete paragraph for Class 9, Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12
Can cats really see in the dark?
No animal can see in complete darkness, but cats are much better than most animals at seeing in very dim light. Many cats do their hunting on moonlit nights, and animals that come out at night — nocturnal animals — have a special layer in the back of their eyes called a tapetum which multiplies the amount of light entering the eyes. This makes dark objects appear brighter and so enables the cat to see more clearly. If you shine a light on a cat’s eyes at night, their eyes seem to glow, and it is the tapetum which causes this to happen.
