My dear Mother
Yesterday was Sunday. I went to the canal that flows near our hostel early in the morning. I have a hearty bath and a short swimming bout there every Sunday.
Hardly had I jumped into the canal when I heard loud cries from a distance. I came out of the canal and rushed to the side from where the cries were coming.
I saw an old woman crying loudly on the bank of the canal. Her only grand son was drowning in the canal. I at once jumped into the canal and brought out the child. The woman was highly thankful to me and wanted to give me a reward, but I refused to accept it.
Convey my love and regards to Papa.
