Martin Frost Henson
Denmark: A top badminton player
Martin Frost is considered an all-time great in badminton in spite of the fact that he is away from the peak form. Along with Prakash Padukone of India, Liem Swi King and Zian, he once formed the top quartet in the international badminton arena. He held sway over this game from 1981 onwards when he emerged on the international scene. His talent got a boost when Prakash Padukone settled in Denmark and Frost started practising with him. Frost started rising in the international firmament and is counted as one of the top players of the game of shuttle.
Frost has won the largest number of tournaments during the past five years and holds the number three position in international badminton ranking. His prominent victories had been in ‘Danish Open’ (six time’s), British Masters, International Masters, Scandinavian Open, Indian Masters Open and All England Championship (three times).
1988 was a bad year for Frost. He was defeated by a newcomer from his own country in the All England Badminton Championship. He also could not steer his country’s team to the final of Thomas Cup. It cannot be denied even then Frost remains the top exponent of this game and brought glory to his country by winning many trophies.
