Science Project on “Heat from Radio Waves”, Project Experiment Topics on Energy in Different Forms for Class 8, 9, 10 and 12 Students.

Heat from Radio Waves

Materials Required:

  1. A microwave oven
  2. Two thermometers
  3. Pencils
  4. A microwave-safe cup
  5. Water

Microwaves run on electromagnetic waves with the same energy that works in radios and televisions.

Only their frequency is much higher. Food in a microwave is generally heated when magnetic waves pass through the substance, causing food molecules to move back and forth very quickly.

In this experiment, we shall see how microwaves do not get the air ‘inside hot’, like normal ovens. Take a cup of water and place it inside the microwave. Heat it for 60 seconds and then take it out.

Now insert a thermometer inside the microwave (take care that the microwave is not on) and close the door. Also put a thermometer into the glass of water that you just took out. After two minutes, remove both the thermometers and compare the temperatures.
