Science Project on “Heat Energy”, Project Experiment Topics on Energy in Different Forms for Class 8, 9, 10 and 12 Students.

Heat Energy

Materials Required:

  1. Toy Pinwheel
  2. Pyrex Beaker
  3. Stove Burner
  4. One-hole rubber stopper
  5. Glass tube bending at 90°

Gas converted from water through heat energy is called Steam. This steam can be used for many processes, like in the case of power energy for boats and trains. Electricity can be generated through steam turbines, when the produced steam pressure pushes against the blades which are connected to a shaft. This shaft is connected to an electric generator.

With the use of a heatproof beaker, a one-hole rubber stopper and a glass tube bending at 90°, heat energy can be converted into mechanical energy. Pour some water into the heatproof beaker and insert the rubber stopper, at the top of it. After that, push the glass tube through the hole of the stopper to complete this setup.

Now place the beaker on a stove and turn the stove to high heat. Take care and remember that you should always have an adult with you, when you are working near hot stoves. Be careful, not to touch the stove burner, the beaker and the escaping steam, as they will be hot. Then take a tall hard-bound book, spread the pages slightly and place it at a relatively close distance to the burner. Fit a toy pinwheel on a stick and lay it on the top of the wheel and extend it out, so that the pinwheel paddles are in the path of the steam coming out of the tube. It will start rotating, thereby confirming the conversion of steam energy into mechanical energy.
