November 14, the birthday of our first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, is celebrated as the Children’s Day. Nehru had undiminishing love for children. Our school celebrated this day with all enthusiasm, zeal and zest and gusto. The main function was organized in the school hall which was tastefully decorated with a liberal use of buntings, strips of multicoloured paper and balloons. In the lobby a number of photographs depicting different aspects of the life. of Nehru attracted people of all ages. The whole function was organised by the school children themselves. The principal and teachers were honourable guests.

The programme started with the worship of Goddess Saraswati. A melodious song was sung by a little girl in the praise of Goddess. Then a girl student in her white dress and a tiara on her head played the role of ‘Bharat Mata’. A group-song, in the praise of the motherland, enthralled the audience. Sweets were distributed amongst the students. Short distance races were held. Children playing umpires and referees managed the items of ‘Musical Chair’ and a race in which teachers took part. The spectators and the managers (children) enjoyed themselves very much. This was followed by the Principal’s address.
