1. The saying simply implies that we owe our duty first to our family and then to the outside world.
2. If we fail to fulfil this responsibility towards our family, how can we expect ourselves to do bigger responsibilities to society or nation?
3. It is for this purpose that a growing child is taught to share his toys, sweets and other things with his brothers and sisters.
4. When he goes to school, he is taught to live in co-operation and fellow feeling.
5. When he grows older, the sense of responsibility towards the society is instilled into him.
6. The early lesson of sharing his things with others teaches him to sacrifice his personal interests for the sake of larger interests of the society and the nation.
7. Also, he will pass this on to the next generation.
8. So, one must prioritize family and it should be on number one in the list.
9. Charity for society is of no use if we do not love and care for our family.
