1. Yesterday I celebrated my ninth birthday.

2. I had invited some of my classmates and neighbours home.

3. My friends arrived at 5 p.m. They all greeted me with good wishes and presents.

4. I took them to the garden where we played for an hour.

5. At 6 p.m. we came indoors. I blew out the candles and cut the chocolate cake.

6. Everyone sang the birthday song and clapped their hands.

7. I distributed the cake pieces along with sandwiches, patties, biscuits, and fruit salad. They all drank cold fruit juice.

8. There were various kinds of games for which prizes were given to the winners.
