Science Project on “Tracking Radio Waves”, Project Experiment Topics on Light, Sound, Maths, Optical Illusion for Class 8, 9, 10 and 12 Students.

Tracking Radio Waves

Materials Required:

  1. AM pocket radio
  2. Aluminium foil
  3. Table

Radio and TV stations send I’ out powerful waves of their TV respective kinds through antennae, which get caught by our radios and televisions.

To determine the direction through which these waves reach you, take a portable AM pocket radio and place it on a table.

Now tune in to a station which is coming in properly Fold a piece of aluminium foil and build it to form a cave, so that the top, left and right, along with the back of the radio is completely covered.

Now, with the front side of the radio open, turn the radio to different sides. Is the radio still coming in powerfully? Keep turning the radio, till you have completed one complete circle. Whichever direction, the radio is coming in the loudest form means the waves of that station are coming in from there.

Keep changing stations and repeating the experiment. That way, you can list the directions of all the radio stations that are being captured by your radio.
