Application to the Principal for Better Library Facilities

The Principal,

Uttar Pradesh College,

Allahabad

Sir,

You need hardly be informed that the state of affairs in our college library is far from being satisfactory. The shelves  are dusty and dilapidated.  Most of the books are antique and antiquated. Even the librarian himself is a Rip Van Winkle. He has hardly any consciousness about the existence of modern books and ultramodern boys.

We, the students of the college, request that the library should be renovated, because it is the fountainhead of knowledge. Without a proper library no student can go far in life or literature.

We suggest that a proper Library Committee should be formed and it should be representative of both the staff and the students. It should take charge of the library as well as the funds and appropriate them for the general improvement of the Library.

The students will be ready to subscribe more to the Library Fund and even make a public collection if a proper move is made and right lead given. This kind of true guidance can only come from such a high personality as you and, therefore , we request you to lend us your moral and material support for this very valuable venture.

A good library is a permanent asset and all the coming generations of students in this college will be glad and grateful for the little groundwork that we may undertake in this divine  direction, because truth, knowledge and enlightenment are the very immaculate Conception of God Himself.

Sanguinely believing that an early step will be taken in this direction,

Yours most obediently,

Students of the College
