601. The longest of history’s countless wars was the ‘Hundred Years War’ between England and France which lasted from 1338 to 1453 (115 years).

602. The words ‘assassination’ and ‘bump’ were invented by William Shakespeare.

603. Before dead Egyptians were mummified, their brains were taken out of their noses with a hook.

604. There are more than 2,700 languages spoken in the world.

605. The world’s first printed book was ‘Diamond Sutra’. Printed with wooden blocks, it was published in China in 868 A.D.

606. According to a Chinese News Agency, Shinhuwa, in December 1987, the residents of Chigtao witnessed a rare sight at a tourist spot near Laoshan mountain. They saw two suns rising on the horizon. Both were of the same size and 10 metres apart. They remained in the sky for about a minute and then one of them started losing its shine and gradually disappeared.

607. A lamb was born outside the Jamina mosque at Nairobi in 1988 with ‘Allah’ and ‘Mohammad’ inscribed on its body. While standing, ‘Mohammad’ could be read on its back and whenever it would lie on its back, ‘Allah’ could be deciphered on its stomach.

The ladders in the game represented virtues and the snakes indicated vices. The game was played with cowrie shells and dices. Later, over time , the game underwent severaj modifications but the meaning is the same, i.e., the good deeds take us to heaven and the evil to a cycle of re- births.
